Getting There
Los Cabos is the municipality which includes the cities of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, and located in the state of Baja California Sur.
Take a direct flight to
Los Cabos International Airport in San Jose del Cabo.
Passports are required to travel to Mexico.
Downtown Cabo San Lucas is a 45 minute minute shuttle ride at about $15 a person on average (pesos and dollars excepted). When exiting the airport you will find a fleet of shuttle vans loading tourists for the 45min scenic ride through San Jose and along the coast until you reach the end of the corridor which is ‘downtown’ Cabo San Lucas. Be prepared for a handful of passenger drop offs along the way but use this time to take advantage of the many accommodations Cabo has to offer.
You can also get a private cab which will cost between $60-80 USD regardless of the number of people. This is a good option if you "just want to get there already".
Don’t forget to grab a Corona when exiting the airport!
